Bartender’s Insight

Pro Tips

Use high-quality, preferably homemade eggnog rather than commercial versions which often contain excessive stabilizers and reduced flavor complexity

From James

  • select complementary spirits such as dark rum, brandy, or whiskey that enhance rather than overpower eggnog's inherent richness

  • incorporate warming spices like nutmeg, cinnamon, or vanilla that complement eggnog's flavor profile without creating confusion

  • serve at proper temperature by warming gently or chilling thoroughly depending on preference and time of year

  • top with freshly grated nutmeg and a light dusting of cinnamon for visual appeal and aromatic enhancement
